I think I was one of the few people that the Old Man could trust that year while everyone else was on New Caprica, mainly because I didn't have a reason to lie to him. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say I was like a daughter to him except he did risk everything to save Hera and I know it wasn't just because of a prophecy.
Maybe your father likes having daughters because he had two great sons.
