Faster Than Light. That's what the "FTL" in "FTL Drive" stands for. It means that the system we call the FTL Drive or the Jump Drive allows a ship to travel from one point in space to another in a time that would require it to be moving at a speed greater than the speed of light. Of course, as we all learned in high school, that's not possible, since accelerating to the speed of light requires an infinite amount of energy.
