Dear Lee,

You don't have anything to apologize for. Not in this.

You and your brother were children, stuck in a situation you never made. Your mother and I, we were the adults, or we were supposed to be. It was our job to do whatever needed to be done to make things right for you and Zak. That that didn't happen is something that we should apologize for.

And since your mother is gone, it falls to me.
